The concept of this Web Site is to test your AutoCAD skills. A site containing drawing challenge exams designed to find out how well your skills match up against others in the CAD industry, and college institutions. You take the exam(s) at your leisure and "click" to submit your answers. Shortly after you'll receive your grades by email.
The process is simple. Select CAD Testing from the site index or follow this link to the "Contests and Winners" page. Select and create a drawing from the drawing challenge pool. Solve the problems, answer the questions and submit for a grade. Use the quick form at the bottom of each drawing exam to submit your answers.
Drawing exams found at this site are posted in .gif format. They may be viewed with any browser capable of viewing that format. Drawings may be printed for ease of creation, or multi-tasked between AutoCAD and your Web Browsing software, then just simply "click" and submit.
Other drawings may be in AutoCAD's Proprietary Drawing Web Format (DWF). Viewing DWF files requires AutoCAD's Whip, Volo View, Express or DWF viewer plug-ins. Learn more about publishing drawings on the Internet at AutoDESK's DWF Viewer Web page or to download the a plugin. This site's CAD Drawings page focuses on embedded and linking hypertext links into AutoCAD drawings
Drawing challenges may be taken at anytime during the calendar year. To win you must post grades of 100% on 3 exams over a period of 5 submittals. Winners of Drawing challenges are posted each calendar quarter on the Winners Page. Winners receive free posting of their resume in .html format on the new CAD Resumes page. Business advertising for one year in the "Links and Resources" section for CAD Professionals. Winner's resumes will be converted into .html and posted on the "Contests and Winners" page.
This year will be dedicated to AutoCAD Release 2007.
I have created a series of seminars for R2006 and I am working on R2007 to incorporate many of the new features to bring new and seasoned users on board with the newest release. Topics discussed are:
Two new written exams and several new drawings have been added to the Testing page. One for AutoCAD's Internet Properties, Web format, and collaborative design. The ever challenging Release "14" competency exam (courtesy of CADDEX) remains for another year. Now that's a challenge!
AutoCAD's 2007 homepage FAQ's, Newsgroups, Testing Sites and Software, and many other links were added to the CAD Web Sites page. A features summary of AutoCAD 2006 and the new DWF Viewer for Design Collaboration Web Site can be found on the Lessons & Presentations page.
As always, let me know what you'd like to see at this Web site and I'll try to upload it. Send me your favorite places to go on the internet, bookmarks, multi-media sites...etc. See Links & Resources for Local CAD Services available on this site.
